Bring Back Firefly!

There is a new petition that will soon be floating around the web once more that may or may not have been created by this blogger right here! For those who have watched the Western Sci-Fi gem Firefly, then they know the anguish that is present within us stemmed by the fact it hasn't been on the air in over ten years. Despite that, it has a loyal and strong fan base that only seemed to grow after it was taken off FOX's network. I should know because I am one of those many people who didn't even come across the show till long after it was off the air.

Something that always bugged me or just struck a chord with me, is the fact that sports seem to be hated among most geeks. It's such a consistent observation that even when a fellow geek is into sports, they are accused of not being a "true geek". I have seen certain celebrities who classify themselves as geeks (I won't name names) say how sports are not popular in their crowd.

So, tonight was the big Kitchen Nightmares premiere and that means I just had to do a second post dedicated to the craziness that is and will be Amy's Baking Company. A Writer's Cop Out?

I am watching the Family Guy episode right now where Peter wins the golf game with OJ Simpson and realized how lazy the writer's can be on the show. The part I'm referring to is when they cut to Conway Twitty. They do this multiple times throughout the series and not once did I find it funny or useful. There was no point to it and it goes on for way too long to begin with let alone sometimes it seems even longer. I really do think it's an act of laziness on the writer's part. It's like they thought "Damn I have a brain fart at this moment in the episode let's just cut to some country music poster child. Maybe I'm being critical and yes, I know Family Guy is famous for showing random cultural content in episodes but this one just drives me crazy for some reason. Am I the only one who thinks this way? Am I over analyzing it too much? Please someone let me know!

With Chrome being the most popular web browser nowadays, it's only right that its extensions get showcased as well. Just like apps, there is an extension for just about everything in Chrome. Some are super nifty and make things totally convenient while others just leave us scratching our heads and wondering "Why???" I mean there should be a line drawn when it comes to how much an app or in this case, an extension is needed. For example, the "IE Tab" that Chrome extensions offers. I mean really!! How lazy can one be that they can't just simply open the IE browser for two minutes to access whatever it is they needed it for in the first place? Does there really need to be a cluttering extension for it? Another one that has me scratching my head is the "MEGA Button." Ummm last I checked, Chrome already has the "MEGA Button" integrated when you click their little three horizontal lines icon in the upper right corner. Once again, to me it just seems to be nothing but clutter. But that's just my opinion. What does everyone else think? Do you have your own opinion when it comes to useful vs. needless extensions?
